The Complete Confection will feature tracks that didn’t make it on the original album.

Katy Perry gave fans their Teenage Dream when she dropped the album back in 2010, and now fans should expect to experience a bit of déjà vu.

The singer will drop a re-release of the album scheduled to March 13, 2012. Playing up the album’s sugary-sweet imagery, it will be called Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection. While little else is known about what will appear on the album, producer Tricky Stewart did shed some light on the project when he spoke to MTV News last fall. He teased that several tracks that didn’t make the final cut for Teenage Dream were being reworked for this project.

“Katy and I went into [the studio] just to address some issues with records that we had done in the past that didn’t end up going on Teenage Dream,” he said in October. “So we are in the process of just listening and freshening up things and getting ready for something special she has going on.”

While the track listing for the re-release is still unknown, Tricky did shed light on one particular song. “This song is really special. It’s called ‘Dressing Up,’ so it’s going to be a big record, I think,” he said. “It definitely fits. It’s right there in what her sensibilities are as a musician and a songwriter. She doesn’t change much. She has a very keen musical taste. It’ll be really good.”

“We always knew that the records we created were special [and] at the time it was more contractual obligation [that they didn't make the record],” he added. “I can only have so many songs produced by me on the record. She didn’t need to have extra songs at the same time.”

In addition to the new album news, Katy tweeted about ending her California Dreams Tour over the weekend in Manila. She dedicated the last show to a fan who had committed suicide. “I hope you’re finding peace up there on that pink cotton candy cloud. I dedicate this last show to u, sweet dreams angel #RIPKatyCatAllie,” she tweeted.

Perry is expected to next appear at the Grammy Awards, where she is up for two awards.

Katy Perry was supposed to attend the People’s Choice Awards on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, but she tweeted that she will “unfortunately” not be able to attend the ceremony. Although disappointing, her decision is completely understandable since her husband Russell Brand just filed for divorce on December 30. After her pending divorce went public, Katy Perry showed her appreciation for her fans by tweeting, “I am so grateful for all the love and support I’ve had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again.” Later, she also told the world that all the tabloid stories aren’t true, saying, “Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, ‘close sources’ or my family.” Bravo, Katy Perry for standing up for yourself in such a difficult time in your personal life. Although she will be missed at the People’s Choice Awards, fans still look forward to her last two shows of her California Dreams tour which will be held in late January. Keep your fingers crossed that she will be up to attending the February 12 Grammy’s where the reigning queen of pop is sure to sweep the board in awards for blah blah blah. Oops, did I just say “blah blah blah”? I guess that’s ‘cos Katy’s just so awesome it seems like a foregone conclusion that she’s going to win some stellar awards this year, and put that business with Russell Brand well behind her. Here’s to looking to see some high points for Katy this year. She’s not even started – she’s still warming up!

Capitol Records is adding another weapon in its arsenal to help Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

The label today (Dec. 15) serviced a remix of the song featuring rapper B.o.B to pop and rhythmic radio. It expects to make the track available for digital purchase as soon as next week.

The first five singles from Perry’s album “Teenage Dream” all reached No. 1 – “California Gurls,” featuring Snoop Dogg; the title cut, “Firework”; “E.T.” (which upon its release as a single featured Kanye West, as opposed to Perry’s solo album version); and, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” – making the set just the second, following Michael Jackson’s “Bad” (1987-88), to yield five Hot 100 leaders. Should “One” hit No. 1, “Teenage Dream” would become the first album to generate six Hot 100 toppers.
