Singer will chat for 30 minutes after premiere on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com.

Katy Perry is ready to give the world “Part of Me.” The singer will world-premiere the video for the track during “MTV First: Katy Perry” on Wednesday, March 21, at 7:23 p.m. ET on MTV.

In addition to the video premiere, she will sit down with MTV News’ James Montgomery for a 30-minute chat about the video as well as her forthcoming album, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection (out March 26), and her upcoming concert movie, “Katy Perry: Part of Me.” That all takes place on MTV.com.

Perry’s fans can get in on the action immediately by submitting video or text questions beginning Thursday (March 15) via Twitter (using @MTVNews / hashtag #MTVFirst or #KatyQ).

Before the premiere of “Part of Me,” a tease of the clip will air on “VH1′s Big Morning Buzz Live” on March 21 at 10 a.m. ET/PT, giving fans a taste of what they can expect from Katy in the video. In the super-fast teaser, Perry is channeling her inner marine. A few shots of guns and night vision preview boot camp for the singer. The sneak peek closes on Perry’s face painted in camouflage makeup. She shot the video on a military base in California in February.

Immediately following the premiere of “Part of Me” on MTV, the video for the deeply emotional single will air on Logo, debut on MTV.com, VH1.com and LOGOtv.com, and go into rotation on mtvU, MTV Hits and AMTV the following morning. Additionally, the video will debut on Saturday, March 24, at 9 a.m. ET/PT during VH1′s “Top 20 Countdown” and on TeenNick’s “Obsess This” music block at 7 a.m. ET and Sunday, March 25, at 8:30 a.m. ET.

This is hardly the first time that Perry has gotten the “First” treatment. In 2011, she sat down with Sway Calloway to premiere her trippy Floria Sigismondi-directed video for her chart-topping Teenage Dream single “E.T.” She later won the Best Collaboration VMA with Kanye West for the video.

K-Pez is ditching sugary-sweet pop songs for a more edgy sound…

Katy Perry has admitted that her next album will be much darker following her split from hubby, Russell Brand. Speaking to Interview magazine, the 27-year old claims she will have less sugary-sweet pop songs on her new LP and more edgy tracks.

The Firework hitmaker stated:

“My music is about to get real f****** dark. I’ll be shoe-gazing.”

Perry also recently revealed to our US Team that she’s ready to start work on her third record, and will finish the campaign for her current Teenage Dream album following the released of the deluxe edition,Complete Confection.

She explained: “Obviously I’m going to close this chapter soon. I am ready to make a new record and maybe try another approach artistically, and I will close the book on Teenage Dream soon, but Complete Confection just felt really organic.

“I’m doing it mostly for the hardcore fans, because they always love all the extras. And also, I couldn’t put more than 12 songs on the original Teenage Dream, and I had written more songs. I finally wanted to incorporate them.”

Perry went on to describe her song writing process as “therapeutic”, adding: “I’m kind of one of those people who is a bit emotion-less on the outside, especially in public, but what I do is I store it, and I file it, so when I need to write I can just push that button.

“I’ve always just been me and my guitar; and I’m not saying I’m going to make that record, but I do want to get back to my roots. I’ve been changing my hair colour too much!”

Earlier this week, Katy revealed that her new single Part Of Me is NOT about ex-Russell, and that she wrote the song long before her divorce from the funnyman.

Gotye has recieved plenty of Celebrity backing after the success of his recent single, with Gary Barlow and Lily Allen just two of the stars who have been tweeting their admiration. Gotye adds that “Ashton Kutcher and Katy Perry have been tweeting about the track.” He finished by teasing that he likes “a lot of Katy Perry’s tracks… it would be weird and interesting if I collaborated with an artist like that.”

One day after making a guest appearance on Fox’s ‘Raising Hope’ as an ‘ugly’ security guard, social media superstar and pop singer Katy Perry announced on social media news of her upcoming 3-D movie on Wednesday.

Shortly after tweeting, #KP3D shot up to the top of the global trending topics as Katycats on all social media sites began talking about the movie. The Perry movie will be a concert documentary movie that will show Perry’s life on- and off-stage. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the Magical Elves, producing duo of Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, are in negotiations to direct the movie.
